For the Plains Tribes, the Northern Lights were called "The Dance of
the Dead Men", or a place where the spirits go. Knife blades, such as
this one were sought after as, given the right light and angle, one
can see these same colors, or the dance.
Scalping Knives were commonly used by the majority of Tribes and
thrived on the Plains, where young warriors sought to take a piece of
the victory home in order to share the success with the Village upon
their arrival. For this knife, moose hair is the trophy.
